SMARTVÉLO was founded in 2020 by Henry Horn, Anna Essers, and Konrad Essers with a simple idea: to make bicycle repairs mobile and hassle-free. What started as a pick-up and delivery repair service for private customers quickly gained traction. Demand grew fast, the team expanded, and a small idea turned into a thriving business.
Soon, companies approached us for help with maintaining their fleets. But it became clear: the available bikes on the market were not built for the demands of B2B use. When one of our clients needed ten durable e-bikes for a new store opening, we saw the opportunity – and decided to build our own. With our expertise in service, technology, and a deep understanding of customer needs, we designed and produced our very first models.
Today, more than 2,000 of our e-bikes are on the road across Germany and the Netherlands. We run our own nationwide service network and also develop accessories such as boxes and bags. Our mission is to build the most robust, durable, and high-quality e-bikes on the market – made for the people who rely on them every single day.
